Does Your State Regulate Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Technologists?Do you know that in the state of Alabama, you have to be licensed to be a cosmetologist or nail technician? This means that hairdressers are better regulated than people who perform medical imaging examinations. According to the ASRT, Alabama is one of five states that have no licensure or regulatory provisions for radiologic personnel. The Board of Directors of the ALSRT is striving to bring forth licensure in order to assure every citizen in the state of Alabama receives radiation imaging services or radiation therapy by qualified personnel.
