Dear Fellow Radiographers,

I am writing to ask you to consider joining your state society. There are over 4000 radiographers in the state of Alabama, with approximately 50 members in the Alabama Society of Radiologic Technologists. That is only 1 percent membership. The society needs your input, and I ask you to consider joining. An excellent continuing education meeting is offered every year, with our last meeting held on a cruise to Cozumel, Mexico. The meeting was affordable, sessions very educational, and the cruise gave me an opportunity to travel and mingle with fellow technologists. It was at this meeting that I learned of our extremely low membership, which limits the impact our society can have on legislative issues affecting all of us. The society desperately needs your involvement and input.

If you have been a member in the past and have let your membership lapse, please reconsider. If you have never been a member, please join. Remember this is your society and without you we cannot make a difference! The dues are $30 a year, and I would encourage you to become involved.

If you know fellow radiographers who are not members, please encourage them to join.  Thank you so much, and I hope to see you at future meetings.
